A climb that even made Miguel Indurain suffer, the Mirador del Fito is definitely a challenging ride for cyclists though if you’re in reasonable form the views will surely get you up and over the worst of it (9% average for the 5km leading up to the pass, maximums of 12%). It’s a bit easier from the inland side (the route shown below) and you get the reward of fantastic coastal vies all the way down the final descent.
With the exception of the 14km on the N634 it is all on country roads and except for tourist traffic to the Mirador itself the roads are usually quite quiet.
The route is also wonderful by car or motorbike combining mountains and the coast with plenty of stopping places along the way
