This magical, little, semi detached cottage, forms part of a traditional Asturian farmhouse (the part on the left in the main photo above). Beautifully restored and renovated by its English owners, who live in the adjoining property, it sits in a tiny mountain hamlet, still a true farming community.
With spectacular views of the surroundings, it is perched high above the Desfiladero de Sella between the magnificent Picos de Europa and the dramatic Ponga Natural park. A paradise for bird watchers and walkers!
Stylishly decorated and furnished, making the best use of space, it has a comfortable and homely feel, and just sitting out on the porch with a glass of wine in the evening, you will feel a world away from the troubles of the present world.
Although seemingly remote, the nearby neighbouring village has a bar with Wi-Fi, local restaurants are a short drive and the nearest town, Cangas de Onis at thirteen kilometres has most amenities and a great Sunday market. The coast with fantastic beaches and fishing ports is a fifty minute drive.
This property is available for short breaks (minimum 3 nights) throughout the season.

Casita La Pipa in the remote mountainside village of Villaverde was exactly what we hoped it would be and was a relaxing, enjoyable experience. The walking in the Ponga and Picos National Parks was amazing and this experience was greatly enhanced by the knowledge and advice of Peter and Gill who were excellent, friendly and helpful hosts. The cottage itself was well-equipped and comfortable, ideal for our needs with great views from the patio at the front as you sat and ate breakfast and dinner. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to any other couple who were interested in walking and not bothered about nightlife. A real highlight were the chickens, dogs and horse that made regular appearances and the bird life. A great holiday."

Two centre, DIY fly drive, of Northern Spain using Casa Cantabricas to source our accommodation..... I have never visited the north west coast of Spain and was persuaded too. What a revelation. Lush, verdant, mountainous and 'alp' like. Simply stunning and a warm, welcoming populace too. Excellent roads and so lightly used. We booked two properties, both fairly remote but in total contrast to each other. One being suited strictly to two while the other slept six with ease.
