Province Galicia Village Hio Location Type Coastal
General Description If you are looking for a slice of paradise, then go no further than this. This beautifully renovated, detached, stone house stands alone in a unique and magical spot right on an unspoilt, sandy beach in the most beautiful area of the Rias Baixas in Galicia.
Set in 60,000 square metres of lovingly tended grounds, backed by pine and oak woods, with mesmerizing views onto the Ria de Vigo and its mussel platforms and the city of Vigo beyond, you feel as though you could almost fish from the windows. With the occasional visit from dolphins, you could not ask for more.
The house is spacious, very well equipped, decorated and furnished tastefully and artistically with an eye to detail, both the interior and the exterior creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The delightful and attentive caretakers will ensure that your stay is a memorable one.
The interesting "ruins" in the grounds were at one time a fish preserving factory, but now are used as a store for eight kayaks for guests' use (NB life-jackets are also supplied but all material is used at clients' own risk). There is also WIFI.
Although remote in feel, you are not far from other breath taking beaches and the surrounding villages with facilities, including Hio, famous for its stone cross and church and fantastic views from there of the whole panorama of this most spectacular coastline. This really is a great base for those wanting seclusion, but also interested in getting to know this most fascinating part of Galicia.
N.B. The last part of the drive to the house is on an unmade track. This is fine in a normal car.

"Casa Paloma is a wonderful place in a fantastic setting and in many ways the photographs and description do not do it justice.
Paloma and Manuel who look after the place could not have been more helpful and accommodating upon our arrival. Indeed, when we arrived a little earlier than expected Manuel was despatched to take us food shopping and then escorted us to a local tapas bar where we could get something to eat. He speaks no English, but appeared to quickly establish a rapport with our eldest daughter who is currently studying A’level Spanish", (Client 2016)
