Province Galicia Village Taboexa Location Type Village
General Description The true delight of this lovely, 200 year old, stone, detached house with a swimming pool, lies in its lovingly tended, magical, fully enclosed garden (2000 square metres) with a great variety of trees, including one hundred camelias and an ecological vegetable patch. With a traditional stone "lavadero" (washing place), two small ponds and a BBQ area, it is a real treat for children to explore and play in.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside with vineyards, in a sleepy, farming hamlet with other houses around, in the interior of the Rias Baixas, yet only half an hour to the coast, in the southernmost part of Galicia, the house has been carefully and sympathetically restored, maintaining many of its original features and with artistic touches.
Quite simply, but comfortably furnished and equipped and decorated in the rustic style, there is no grandeur here - instead the emphasis focuses on your relaxation and switching off from the stress of modern life. There are several sitting and dining areas both within the house and in its grounds, giving everyone their own space.
With two living rooms and kitchens, it is a good choice for two families wishing to holiday together, yet with a bit of independence.
Though seemingly away from it all, the charming little towns of As Neves and Arbo with their covered markets and the River Mino with its fluvial beaches and Portugal beyond are a short drive away and the lively city and port of Vigo just thirty five kilometres.

"This is an incredible house and we have hugely enjoyed our time here. Jose has been a fantastic host - we have felt welcome, extremely comfortable, and we have had a lovely time in this charming house and beautiful garden.
As two families, with seven children aged 1-9, we have had a perfect holiday. Two of the children have learned to swim during our fortnight here, and all of them have become hugely more confident in a pool so well designed for families.
We were especially grateful to be invited to sample the Spanish tomatoes and courgettes fromt he vegetable garden which were absolutely delicious.
We made good use of the bread oven (for pizza!) and the barbeque. The children made great memories & adventures in the garden.
This is a fantastic part of Spain, we have loved exploring the area, been made & felt welcome, enjoyed the beautiful countryside, seaside villages, mountin walks, local attractions - Baiona & Oia were our particular favourites for seaside days out, as was Valenca (in nearby Portugal)
The local supermarkest were well equiped for our supplies and local delicious to take home and share with others.
The routes in the guide book (especially 1 & 4) were enjoyed by us and the views at summit were spectacular."
"Lovely stay - the best equipped villa we have stayed in. Very comfortable stay between our two families. We were able to relax and have plenty of space and not disturb each other during the mornings.
We loved the outside space - lots of choice for meal times. Loved the pool (brilliant size).
Fantastic to have allotment growing fruit and vegetables and the other part of the garden higher up. Was so much bigger than we were expecting"
