General Description
This special, charming, traditional, sixteenth century, detached, stone, south facing cottage with a large enclosed garden at the side, is certainly a house with a history! It was at one time the original "palace" in the village and was then lived in by the caretakers of the magnificent "palace" across the way.

Recently and very carefully restored, maintaining many of its original features including some tiny medieval like windows, it stands in the very pretty and peaceful hamlet of La Griega with wonderful views of the Sierra del Sueve and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Tastefully furnished and decorated in keeping with the style of the house, it is a great place just to relax and unwind and soak in the atmosphere.

It is in a unique position with the fantastic beach, Playa "La Griega", reached down a country lane and the interesting old town of Colunga both just a fifteen minute walk away. Just a little further afield is the fascinating old town and port of Lastres on the "Dinosaur" coast where you can feast on fishy delights!

A perfect spot for those wanting to combine a traditional seaside holiday with the gentle pace of country life.

NB In summer school holidays owner prefers two-week bookings starting either on the 1st or 15th of the month. Please ask for details)

Clients Comments...

Lovely property & excellent service.
Property was wonderful in a great location to explore the Dinosaur Coast of Northern Spain.
Service & communication with Casas Cantabricas was excellent from the start. Only issue was the directions to the property were just slightly inaccurate which caused us a stressful end to our very long, tiring journey to the property but this was a minor problem.
The owner was lovely & helpful and her house was one of the best equipped & well-provisioned we've ever stayed in. Would book another property with this company.

"Beautifully renovated Asturian house in an excellent location for fabulous beaches and walks in the mountains.
We had a very peaceful and relaxing time and found the local people very friendly though my Spanish wasn't quite up to good conversation!"
(Client 2016)

"Relaxing holiday. Beautiful setting.
We had a great week in Asturias. The Casa that we stayed in was a really old village house, beautifully restored and well equipped.
The village, Colunga, had everything that one needed and was within walking distance of the Casa. The beach, also walking distance was lovely.
Asturias is known as Green Spain/Costa Verde and it wouldn't be so without some rain which we had a day of but also lovely sunshine though not TOO hot which suited us.
There are beautiful villages, beaches and mountains all within easy reach and plenty of history in the area - cave paintings, dinosaur footprints and old towns.
Overall, something for everyone" (Client 2016)

"The holiday was a revelation. We shall certainly return to Asturias and with your company", (Client 2014)
