Olveira de Arriba
On the south side of the Barbanza peninsula are various resorts and ports with good shopping and eating; but this is a busier part of the world. To really “get away from it all” there are the white beaches and the amazing sand dunes of Cabo Corrubedo and its lovely little seaside town, the mixture of sand and low simple buildings giving a feeling of a more southern clime.
To the north along the southern shores of the ria de Muros y Noia are little towns and villages and a good choice of sandy beaches. Further amenities are at hand at picturesque Porto do Son and in Portosin with its tennis court and Club Maritimo. Noia (Noja) at the mouth of the estuary gives you a chance to combine shopping and history, as it has some grand old houses and three beautiful churches.
- Beautiful local beaches.
- Visit the delightful nearby fishing port of Corrubedo and the spectacular sand dunes - a five minute drive!
- Visit the lighthouse at Corrubedo, working since 1854.
- Go up to the Mirador de Curota to get the best view of the amazing Rias Baixas.
- Discover the 6000 year old Dolmen of Axeitos at Bretal, 6 kms from Corrubedo.
- Take a trip to wonderful Santiago de Compostela, Pontevedra and Vigo.
- Visit Padrón, birthplace of Camilo José Cela, nobel prize winning writer.
- Visit picturesque nearby fishing port of Porto do Son.
- Sample the delicious fish and seafood everywhere and try the excellent local restaurants.
- Explore the interesting old town of Noia with its ancient churches, mysterious cemetery and fantastic indoor food market.
- Visit the Celtic Castro de Baroña just a short drive away.

Reviews of this property
"Excellent. Great accommodation and host." (Client 2019)
"Very good villa with swimming pool". Client 2019
"We had the most amazing time staying at Casa Vicky! Vicky was a brilliant host who was so accommodating - she gave us lots of recommendations for local restaurants, beaches and other places to go to, which was brilliant as I don’t think we would have stumbled across them without her.
The area is not touristy at all and we didn’t come across another english person the whole time we were there which was wonderful! Anytime I had a question, Vicky was on the end of a text or phone call and answered straight away.
The house itself is stunning and full of character, and the garden is just amazing, perfect for the children with the pool and play area, as well as for playing hide and seek!
I would 100% recommend this property and we will definitely be back!!"
