Cosy country cottage with beautiful garden very near fantastic beaches

This modern, detached, single storey, country cottage with a lovely mature, fully enclosed garden of 3000m2, is in the small coastal village of Salamir between the picturesque fishing ports of Cudillero and Luarca in Western Asturias.

Very well maintained and well equipped, it is cosy, homely and very comfortable. It has a very recently fully fitted, stylish kitchen and two bathrooms as well as new laminate flooring and new solid wood doors.

A great place just to sit around and relax and read a book on the south facing terrace or for kids to play safely in the garden, it is welcoming to come back to after a day out on the beach or exploring.

With three fantastic beaches very nearby, one in the village itself (half an hour's walk), good opportunities for walking, cycling and horse riding, it provides all the ingredients for an active holiday. And for those seeking some culture, the cities of Aviles, Gijon and Oviedo are all within easy reach.

N.B. This property has WIFI and the owners will accept pets. It also has an alarm system.

From this, the front door opens into the hall. Off hall is a large, open plan living room and a new fully fitted, very well equipped kitchen.

Salamir

Salamir is a small, spread out farming village on the coastal plain in between the picturesque fishing ports of Cudillero and Luarca in Western Asturias.

In the village there is a lovely natural beach, Playa Oleiros, which can only be reached on foot and a pretty picnic spot in pine woods, Monte Valsera. Nearby are the beautiful beaches of Playa de San Pedro de Ribera and Playa de Concha de Artedo. There are also marked walking and cycling routes along the coast.

Although there are no facilities in the village, the bread van comes everyday and the village of Lamuno at two kilometres has a small shop selling basics and two bars, one of which is a simple, good value family run restaurant. There is also a stables in Lamuno that provide various horse-riding routes.

Supermarket, bars and restaurants and other facilities are found in Soto de Luina, just over three kilometres.

  • Feast on fish and seafood at the local restaurants.

Getting There

Coastal Cantabria & Asturias region has excellent access by air and sea:

Flights:
Stansted to Bilbao with Easyjet or Santander with Ryanair;
Gatwick to Bilbao or Oviedo with Vueling (BA).
Manchester to Bilbao with Easyjet;
Bristol to Bilbao with Easyjet;
Edinburgh to Santander with Ryanair or Bilbao with Easyjet;
Dublin to Santander with Ryanair or Bilbao with Aer Lingus.

NB Flights are not included but we can advise on routes and timetables

Ferries: Plymouth or Portsmouth to Santander or Bilbao – 7 sailings weekly. Ireland to North Spain - 2 sailings a week.

Please ask us for advice on ferry crossings, timetables and flexible start dates to fit with the crossings.

Getting Around

If travelling by air we recommend renting a hire car to make the most out of your visit to the area. If you prefer to use public transport please consult our expert staff for advice on which properties are more suitable.
