Casa Serans, Galicia

Serans | Ref: GSER1 | Bedrooms: 3 | Sleeps: 7

Stylish designer house on a beautiful natural surfy beach in southern Galicia.

Designed like the prow of a boat, this stylish, detached, modern house, sits just back from the beautiful, unspoilt, surfy beach of Espineirido in the lovely Barbanza peninsula in southern Galicia.

Set in large, enclosed grounds with a gate at the bottom that leads to the beach, its adventurous, young owners fell in love with the natural surroundings which decided them to build this getaway in such a stunning location.

Attractively furnished and decorated in the taste of today, it is spacious, very comfortable, very well equipped and immaculately maintained. The master bedroom alone with its roomy terrace and views is a dream, particularly at sunset or for having breakfast in bed!

With a few other houses dotted around in the fields to either side, the sound of the rolling waves might seem to be your only company, but within a short drive the delightful fishing port and seaside town of Corrubedo and its magnificent sand dunes and lagoon await.

Not much further away is the bustling port and town of Ribeira with all facilities and the historical cities of Santiago de Compostela, Pontevedra and Vigo are within easy reach as are the busier beaches and resorts of the Rias Baixas.

Serans

Serans is a sleepy, coastal, farming village in the Barbanza Peninsula between Porto de Son and Ribera. It has a good village bar with a terrace that looks out to sea and the bread van comes everyday and other mobile food vans visit too.

The nearest supermarket is at Xuno just a few kilometres away where there are more bars, a couple of restaurants, a chemist's and a bank. The large port and town of Ribeira, a twelve minute drive has all the facilities you need.

On the south side of the peninsula are various resorts and ports with good shopping and eating; but this is a busier part of the world. To really “get away from it all” there are the white beaches and the amazing sand dunes of Cabo Corrubedo and its lovely little seaside town, the mixture of sand and low simple buildings giving a feeling of a more southern clime.

To the north along the southern shores of the ria de Muros y Noia are little towns and villages and a good choice of sandy beaches. Further amenities are at hand at picturesque Porto do Son and in Portosin with its tennis court and Club Maritimo. Noia (Noja) at the mouth of the estuary gives you a chance to combine shopping and history, as it has some grand old houses and three beautiful churches.
