Casa de Cervera 1, Cantabria and Asturias
Cervera | Ref: CER1 | Bedrooms: 2 | Sleeps: 4Beautifully restored traditional cottage with stylish interior in hidden, hilltop village.
Stone walls and wooden beams keep a sense of tradition, while the owner, an interior designer, has used her flair to decorate, furnish and equip these properties stylishly and imaginatively.
The two cottages are very similar, each with their own, independent sitting out area, but also with a shared garden.
Casita de Cervera 1 is slightly smaller than 2 and, while centrally heated, does not have a fireplace.
Set up in the refreshingly unspoilt, traditional, "hidden" village of Cervera, in the parish of Cabranes, with a handful of farming neighbours and hens roaming freely, you are tucked in between the Sierra del Sueve, the coast at Villaviciosa and the Picos mountains.
In the heart of cider country and in the area of impressive "Casonas Indianos", though you feel away from it all, at just one kilometre is the quirky village of Torazo with a couple of bars (one a restaurant too) and an excellent bakery; the surrounding villages offer more gastronomic choices, including a wonderful Japanese restaurant!
With gently undulating countryside in the most wooded part of Asturias, the area is immediately inviting for walking and other outdoor activities.

Cervera
With just a handful of neighbours and hens roaming freely, it has a remote feel, but although there are no facilities, at just one kilometre (an easy walk), the interesting and picturesque village of Torazo has two bars (one a restaurant too) and an excellent bakery.
Santolaya at eight kilometres has a traditional bar/shop and there and in the surrounding villages there are some very good restaurants, including a Japanese one, Fuente La Lloba in Huentes (eight kilometres).
For all facilities the nearest town is Infiesto at eleven kilometres and a bit further, on the coast, Villaviciosa.
The area, the most wooded in Asturias, with its gently undulating countryside, is great for walking and other outdoor activities and the lovely beaches of Playa Rodiles and Playa La Griega at just half an hour away.
