On the southern bank of the Bidasoa river which forms the border with France Hondarribia has throughout history enjoyed a strategic position.
Nowadays the same position makes it the perfect base to discover the Basque coast and border region with San Sebastian just 20km away, The French Pais Basque within walking distance and the Pyrenees just a short drive.
