Casa Chan, GaliciaBarcela | Ref: GPON3 | Bedrooms: 4 | Sleeps: 8
Delightful house and garden with pool, river walks, historic towns and spas nearby.
Beautifully, thoughtfully and artistically designed, furnished and decorated by its owners, with great attention paid to detail, the use of stone, wood, glass and iron blended with many pieces of antique furniture make this a very special house indeed.
In addition to the main house which comprises three bedrooms, the living room and the kitchen, there is a separate outbuilding where there is a fourth double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
Spacious and light, the large windows give onto the delightful garden with fruit trees and huge centenarian camelias, and to vineyards and gently rolling hills beyond. A truly peaceful, country spot, just a few kilometres away from the imposing River Minho which makes a natural border between Spain and Portugal in southern Galicia.
Please note: the pool is not enclosed and the internal design may not be ideal for toddlers (please study the photo gallery and give us a call if you have any doubts).
Accommodation DescriptionFront gate opens into large enclosed grounds, part gravelled, part laid to lawn (2000 square metres) with swimming pool (not enclosed), fruit and other trees and lovely views of the surrounding countryside and hills beyond. Gravelled area by the house with garden furniture.

The staircase which leads from the entrada takes you to the first floor with a very large open plan living/dining room with windows all around with fantastic views, a gallery and a door onto a terrace and exterior staircase which leads down to the garden. Part of the floor is glass, looking down onto the kitchen.
Off this there is a passage; from this one double bedroom with access to outside upper terrace, one twin bedroom and a bathroom, and a further staircase taking you to the top floor.

Reviews of this property
We were a group of 8 family members and from the first contact with Casas Cantabricas the experience was easy and every interaction was helpful, timely and made the whole experience wonderful. The villa was lovely in a great setting, very well equipped and very special . The setting in the vineyards was peaceful and relaxing, and the owner was helpful but not intrusive. There was plenty of space for everyone to be able to relax in their own way . Fantastic."
