Casa do Cruceiro, Galicia

Tomino | Ref: GPON6 | Bedrooms: 5 | Sleeps: 10

Great pool and garden, simple house but excellent value, close to river, sea & Portugal.

Set in a lane in a residential area, amidst vineyards and kiwi plantations, this spacious, light and relaxing house, built in the seventies, stands in 2000 metres of very well maintained enclosed grounds with shrubs and trees and its very own "cruceiro".

With wonderful views looking out over to Portugal with the River Miño, great for fishing and water sports, close by, you are in an area of two cultures.

Though fairly simple, and furnishings, on the whole, a bit old fashioned, its charm lies in its size and its very good sized swimming pool and tennis court (not full size) and garden. The owners also provide eight bicycles so this in a fantastic place for those looking for an active holiday.
For a family feast or perhaps even a wine tasting evening, the house has a traditional bodega attached with a fixed stone BBQ and kitchen area. There is plenty of room for everyone to have their space !

The kitchen in the main house is also very well equipped, but for those wanting a break from cooking, within a short distance, there are some good typical restaurants of the region and don't forget you are in the Albariño wine growing area here.

You are near lovely beaches at A Guarda and Baioña (15 minutes), river beaches (5 minutes), Tui, the ancient capital of Galicia at fifteen kilometres and its less than half an hour to the fascinating and interesting port and city of Vigo where you can take a trip to the magical Islas Cies.
Tomiño, your local town, has an excellent market and most facilities that you need.

The property has WIFI.

A market town with both a weekly outside and a very good covered market, little shops and supermarkets and other facilities, Tomino lies in one of the most fertile areas in Spain.

Surrounded by vineyards, kiwi plantations and garden nurseries, it is just north of the Rio Minho dividing Spain from Portugal. Besides its main town centre it is made up of several little parishes.

There are lovely river beaches along the Rio Minho and delightful walks along the many paths leading down to and along it.

There are restaurants and bars in the town, but several others, belonging to the municipality are down near the river or along the main road that links Tui with A Guarda.
