It is probably true to say that there are few places in the world where you will find better seafood than in Galicia. Just going to a Galician market is a sight for sore eyes, the variety and quantity alone, is astonishing - in fact there are more than forty varieties of shellfish alone and fish of every description. From all sorts of crabs to lobsters, from tiny shrimps to giant langoustine, from mussels, oysters, clams, cockles, razor clams, squid, sepia, scallops, not to forget the most wonderful octupus "pulpo", boiled and sprinkled simply with oil and paprika and the local delicacy "percebes" - goose barnacles which the Spanish fight over.
