Even on a chilly weekend in late October Burgos Cathedral never fails to impress. We were very pleasantly surprised by the lanes and squares around with their arcades and gallery windows and the Parwque del Espolon beside the river – great for a wander. With seemingly countless bars and restaurants you’ll not go hungry – to our great disappointment we even found a vegetarian restaurant for my sister! (Cardamomo – highly recommended actually). And don’t miss the Casa del Cordon where Columbus met the Catholic kings on returning from his second voyage to the Americas
