Ribeiro wines from Galicia

Ribeiro wines from GaliciaRibeiro means riverbank and is the name of the red and white wine growing area spanning the valleys of the rivers Miņo and Sil in the northeast of the province of Ourense. The first vineyards were planted by the Romans. Now these wines are internationally famed - the delicious white wines are fresh and fruity and the excellent reds from the Ribeira Sacra valley are from the Mencia grape variety - dark red and full of body. In July each year there is a fantastic Ribeiro wine festival held in the lovely old town of Ribadavia where thousands of people attend to enjoy all sorts of events. Why not join in?
