This house, built in 1511 and extended in the 18th century, has a very special feel to it. Situated in the heart of the "Ribeira Sacra", with the beautiful countryside of the Canons of the River Sil, numerous Romanesque monasteries and churches which make up the most important group of Western Europe, and in one of the historically deepest rooted wine growing regions in Spain. The delightful owners Manuel and Pauloba have succeeded in maintaining the original atmosphere of the manor in all respects. They and their helper Maria Luisa will give you a very warm welcome and you will feel at home at once in this house full of treasures from the past. The manor is known as "The Misses House" due to the sisters who lived there during the middle of the last century and who were the last of of the original family, the Diaz Varelas, to live there. It is set within a walled enclosure which harbours vineyards and gardens covering over 10,000m2, making it an idyllic spot to rest and enjoy nature. Linked to the house in the village is a swimming pool, tennis courts and a football field and there is a golf course 10kms. away. There is also a games room in one of the outhouses. Local activities include horse-riding, canoeing, fishing, walking and boat trips along the Canyons of the River Sil. The interesting city of Orense is 35kms away and Monforte de Lemos with its castle and Roman bridge only 9kms.
